Palestine Football Teams Visit to Pakistan

LAHORE, Pakistan — The Palestinian national football side is to tour Pakistan next  month, an official said, as the hosts ramp up efforts to bring back international sport  to a country plagued by terrorism. "Palestine's national football team is due to tour Pakistan and will play a two-match  series and this series will help us revive international sport," Pakistan Football  Federation president Faisal Salah Hayat told reporters. International teams have refused to tour Pakistan since gunmen attacked the  Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore nearly two years ago, killing eight people and  wounding seven Sri Lankan players and their assistant coach. Pakistan has been forced to play its cricket series on neutral venues including  England and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Hayat said the Palestinian team will play in the eastern city of Lahore on February  27 and Karachi on March 2. "After the two-match series, Pakistan will tour Palestine in March where another  two-match series will be played," said Hayat. Hayat told reporters on Sunday that Iran, Malaysia, Oman, South Korea and the  UAE had also agreed to play Pakistan. "Hopefully Malaysia will tour Pakistan in March this year and we have a planned  tour of South Korea in August-September this year and these series will help us  prepare for 2014 World Cup qualifying rounds," said Hayat. Pakistan, ranked 171 in FIFA (International Football Federation) rankings, has  never qualified for World Cup main rounds. Washington has called Pakistan's northwest tribal belt on the Afghan border  the global headquarters of Al-Qaeda, and bomb attacks across the country have  killed around 4,000 since July 2007. handsome prizes for finalists of PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011. The final of the event will be played on Monday, 24 January
when hot favourites Lyari Town will collide with Singholane at mammoth Peoples Sports Complex, Karachi ( 3 PM Kick-off) The winning team of 17-day event will be presented Rs 1,00,000 cash while the runner-up will receive Rs. 50,000.
There will also be individual prizes.It is first time in history of Lyari that such handsome cash prize will be given to
U14 boys. Under the brilliant leadership of PFF Chief and AFC EXCO member Faisal Saleh Hayat, PFF is in full swing as far as Youth

eleven U14 Union Councils of Lyari Town namely UC-01 (Agra Taj), UC-02 (Daryabad), UC-03 (Nayabad) UC-04 (Khada),
UC-05 (Baghdadi), UC-06 (Kalri), UC-07 (Bihar Colony), UC-8 (Rangiwara), UC-09 (Singolane), UC-10 (Kalakot) and UC-11
(Nawalane) showed their prowess in the event along four from industrial estates in Balochistan Uthal, Bela, Winder and

Luckless Pakistan Drew Malaysia 0-0

Selangor, 9 March: Luck eluded Pakistan completely when they drew Malaysia 0-0 in London Olympics Football Qualifier at Punjab Stadium, Lahore. The result was not enough for Pakistan as Malaysia moved into next round with 2-0 on aggregate. It were Chaman-based front runners Jadeed Khan and Kalim Ullah who missed real chances throughout the 90-minute tussle but none of them besides Muhammad Adil, Rizwan Asif were able to get the breakthrough against sound keeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat who was also Malaysian captain.

The chief guest was Federal Secretary Sports, Aziz Ahmed Bilour while Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, Pakistan Sports Board D irector General Amir Hamza Gilani also watched the match.

Pakistan fielde Muhammad Omar as keeper in the match (replaced in 88th min by Amir Gul due ti injury) and once again he was active in keeping the Malaysian in check particularly their first leg scorer ar Shah Alam stadia Wan Zaharulnizam and Mohd Irfan Fazail.

Pakistan’s National team has FIFA World Ranking of 171 as compared to Malaysia’s 138,but the U21 team of Pakistan put up fine display and had to blame themselves for not reaching the Target of 3-0 win.

Tariq Lutfi-coached Pakistan were clearly better team in the Match but the poor finishing, at least six sitter, tarnished their image. He also asked new comer Rashid Ali, Asim Mansoor to try the luck but Pakistan failed to accomplish the task.
